Velvet deer shot later in the season, (not early bow kills) tend to have a hormonal imbalance of some sort. Many does that grow antlers tend not to lose velvet for the same reason. Pretty neat once in a blue moon trophy!

Nope, that was the only one I had of that buck.  Intresting brow tines on it, one of them splits and the other wraps around.
