I need some new arrows, and was wondering what kinds of arrows you have had success with and which ones I should stay away from.  I was thinking about goldtips....

I've been using Gold Tips XT Hunters for almost 2 years now and I've been very happy with them. My eldest son shoots the Carbon Expess Predator II and his brother shoots the WhiteTail brand they sell at Gander. Both seem to be quality arrows. Most of the major manufactures make a quality carbon arrow so you really can't go wrong.

I started with Behman ICS Hunter but could not get good groups so the guy at JT archery suggested I try Carbon Express Maxima's. I thought the guy was just trying to upsell me cause these were considerably more expensive but after shooting them I was very impressed.

I use the Carbon Express Predator II's also, and I'm happy with them.  they're reasonably priced too.

Carbon Express Maxima Hunter  (can't remember the number if it was 300's or 350's)  These are by far some of the best arrows I've shot.  I've tried Beman el cheapos, Beman next step el cheapos  (Still like $40 :/)  Tried Gold tips and then stuck with my C.E.M.H. arrows.  I've bought a pkg. of 12 of these $170 or so with tax.

I've robin hooded arrows with these ones training for the Mankato hunt on my 3D deer target.  And at longer ranges the groups stay really tight.  The cheaper ones weren't as tight at 20 and 30 yards as the Maximas but still alright.  But at 40 yards the cheaper ones were no match.

You may want to check out the Easton Axis Nano's.  They have a great run out, super consistent wall thickness, are very spine tolerant, and they are the strongest arrows on the market.

I use carbon express and have had no problems. I have tried easton axis arrows out of my longbow and did not like them for the fact that while stump shooting  the tip of the arrow, to where the insert starts bent
Thats the only carbons I have tried and have an opinion on.
