Now that the fire arms deer season is just about done, will you return to the woods to chase Grouse? I will out there till the end sometimes with my dogs and sometimes not. Looking for some fresh snow which we don't have any on the ground yet. Tracking Grouse on a sunny winter day will keeep ya warm.

It seems I will go till the end either if it stays "warm" late, thru December(fall like weather) or if we get some snow, being the birds hold more when they have snow to roost/hide in... hoping to get out a few more times yet this year.... :happy1:  Plus, I aint quite ready for ice fishing yet!

Woods are quiet again, but this gray day just nevers seems to want to go away. Since before deer season we hardly have seen the sun and with little snow on the ground the grouse are holding tight. Good for the dogs to work in, no snow to fight and the ruts made from the atv's have frozen over. Waiting for that nice ivory flake snowfall to come, go chase some grouse and get the Christmas tree!

I don't hunt grouse, myself, but seem to have a few around the farm.
I sat out this morning with my muzzleloader for deer. I didn't see any deer, but plenty of grouse. Years ago, I planted some wild grapes out in the woods, and the grouse seem to love them!
I watched, and have been watching, several fly from the ground to the vines and pick off the dried grapes. (keeps me entertained when I sit in the stand)

I got 3 pics here, but the 2nd one, the grape vines are so thick, it's hard to see the bird.
