Does anyone else think this would be a excellent coach to replace Childress... A run first pass second coach who has a history of getting the most out of his running backs. A crafty play caller with a couple of Super Bowl rings and a lot of respect around the league. Any thoughts?

He would be a great coach for the Vikes.  The only problem is, Chilly made the playoff's and I doubt Ziggy will cut him loose this year.

Could you imagine having a proven coach with some creative play calling?  It is so frustrating to watch the predictive play calling of Childress.  It's first down, run it up the middle.

The most excitng play we had all year was when Gus threw the bomb to Berrian vs Chicago on first down when we were on the 1 and he went 99 yards for the touchdown.

When can't we throw it more on 1st downs?  Or why don't we do more play action?  We have the best running back in the league!

I would love to have a proven coach who has some creativity to their offense.

Shanahan to the Cowboys is my guess. Jerry Jones will do whatever it takes to land him in Dallas.

I have to agree with Dennis, while Shanahan would be an incredible addition to the MN Vikings, Zygmeister will not be getting rid of Coach Childish anytime soon I'm afraid.

If he weathered the storm through early 2008 with him, he will not cut him loose now that he won the NFC North and at least made the playoffs.

I too would like to see even "a little" more imagination and less predictability in the play calling from Chiildress and the coaching staff. This vanilla offense is not what the Vikings ever have been or should ever be known for. Put it up in the air and open up the running game more!!!
