well, i went out at about 1:30 and fished until about 5pm.  Was out from the a-frame and caught probably around 30 crappies and maybe a dozen sunnies.  saw a few big northerns on the camera, no takers on the shiner.  i was in about 11-12 fow.  there is a road plowed out from the lake street access by frankies.

John any size to the panfish or did they have the chisago lakes area growth stunt going on?

how much  ice and howmany people are driving out there ?

i actually didn't check the ice (dooh) but they had a road plowed, and everyone was driving out, so I felt comfortable doing it too.  and they had the typical chisago lakes growth thing going on.  But I could have scratched out a limit of cleanable crappies if I wanted some for a dinner.  the sunnies had parasites big time and I wouldn't have kept any of them.  Good place to bring a kid for action though.

I didn't make it out on Friday like I had planned, but I did make it out Saturday.
I caught sunfish until my arm fell off. Most were quite small. I did manage to keep a few nice sunfish and three decent crappies.
The ice was about 14 to 15 inches and there was traffic all over the lake.
