which part of the crow? i do a majority of my catfishing in the crow river in watertown. i use cut bait. medium suckers cut up into chunks work very well.

this is how i set-up for the cats, everyone else has there own ways im sure...i usually have a 4 foot peice of line from the hook up to a swivel then 8 inches of line tied to the other side of the swivel add a heavy weight to the 8 inches of line then tie the other end of the line to another swivel then tie the end of your line off your rod to that swivel. sounds more complicated than it is, but it has always worked for me.
