Monday Aug 14th afternoon trip 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm Late report.
After a morning of outstanding fishing with gray sky's and a stiff north winds the afternoon sky's gave way to the sun and a more forgiving north breeze. I picked up Christine and Bob Brown of Racine at noon and headed out to the same morning hot spot that worked so well earlier. The old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" is so true as we picked up where we left off in the am. Bob lost 2 of the nicest smallies I've seen on Geneva in some time. They both spit the hook during an aerial displays so we got a nice view of them both. The dead stick system seemed most productive using 6 lb test moss green Magnathin Line on ultra light rods while anchored. Crawlers seemed to be the ticket for us.

We fished in 28 to 33 fow and had a few lulls but smartly stuck it out as the bass were moving in and out quite often. Christine was a take charge fisherman and managed to prove herself in short order with some dandy smallies. The fish we caught this afternoon all came off a clean bottom area.

See ya on the water, Lee Borgersen
