spring scouting anyone?

i was just wondering if anyone used the spring migration as a scouting tool for the fall season?
i would think that the ducks are using different areas because of the extra water laying around this time of year. but has anyone ever done this and did it help in the fall season??

its tough because all of the lakes they usuly use in the fall are frozen and the water they use isnt there in the fall. aside from just numbers i dont think it would help much. i would spend your time chasing snow geese around!

I spent a bit of time locating birds last spring. It was fruitless come fall.

Water changes alot by the time fall does roll around. Areas you thought you could motor right though you have to pull the boat across etc. Weeds change everything as well.

Ive just been going out listening to the birds, trying to figure out how bad I really do sound. Photographing, looking for bling(not that it matters now, or ever).

Got about 150 darks sitting on my flooded field in the backyard so listening to them and waiting for the yotes to start getting antsy on them. Last year I got smoked a yote as she was making her plan of a sneak. Birds didnt even fly after the shot.
