I would like to start a colony of beetles. Does any body know of a respectable place to get them from? In the past, I have looked around online and I know there out there I would just like to use somebody recommended from MNO rather than a shot in the dark.

 Any help would be great
      Thanks

I will get you a couple sources. Give me until next week. I have had them in the past and they were both good suppliers.

Well, I got my beetles today and they look great :happy1:. I just wanted to thank Auggie for the help. Now I just need to stick a few deer with my bow. I have worked on skulls before, but now with the colony growing, I should be able to do a much better and faster job this fall when the colony is mature.

And my wife will be happy when the bear skulls are out of the frezzer!!

If your beetles start to go hungry, I got a deer skull in the freezer they could munch on.   ;D

The line may start in November I need to see how this goes first. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. But I admit I am exited to get them to work.

Your welcome. How many did you get? Good luck with them, and remember they do need a little attention. You can't just toss in the skulls and forget about them!

I have been taking very good care of my new friend. I was told it would be around 7 weeks before the colony was ready for skull. But with lots of TLC they worked there first bear skull last week and are doing a clean up job right now on another That a guy I know tried to let rot away in his back yard. It only took about 3 days for the full skull. They are very impressive!

One pic of the colony and a pic of one I did a few years ago

Auggie Could u pm me on what you think the best Degreasing and whiting process is that you have tried. I have tried a few ways. But I consider my self to still and always be in a learning process. So I am always willing to try new and different ways
