What do you consider to be a BIG perch?  We've been gettin' 'em between 10"-13" on Pelican Lake, Orr, MN this winter.  Lots of smaller ones of course.

What do you think?

To me, a BIG perch is a 2 1/2 pounder.

Use to catch um years ago, and they were shaped like foot balls!

Here is a pic.....I should'a mounted that top one!

10 - 13 inch perch are great if you can do it consistent!! I woulf love that any day. But if we are talking BIG  perch i'm think 13 and up. I remember about 5 openers ago we ran into some perch and caught a few that were 13 and 14inches. Man those were some bug perch. Probably the biggest perch I had ever caught.

Around where i live I would say an 8 inch perch is big.  Not to many jumbo perch in this area.

I would keep a 10" any day for meal. I do believe if you scale them and then fillet them leaving the skin on is the best eating . for me any ways. :chef:

i would say 13+ is a big perch, i love eating them but its very hard to find a lake that they dont actually have worms in. i usually check the gills and fins but ive only had a few lakes that they dont. i would eat any perch over 10" or so anything else is too much work for the reward

Hey tr a rapala eletric knife ! it is much faster and easier to clean anything espically A 8 - 9 INCH PERCH OR SUNNIE! the Rapala blades are thinner than anyother knife so its easier to not mess up a fish .

It's too bad that people keep 10- 12 inch perch, awful tough to get 14+ perch when most of them are all eaten up before that!

I have never caught a monster perch. I would like one to mount and have my limit set at 13" for that. Other than that I'll take 10"+ for the table but in a jam have cleaned 8"+.
