Wondering what everyones favorite hunting guns are and why.

My favorite gun is my 12 ga pump, a remington sportsmen model 12. I bought it new when I was 15 yrs old. It's kinda like an old cowboys hat, it's been with ya long enough that ya can't leave without it.

I've hunted everything from small game to birds and big game with it. I've had to use the barrel as a club on the head of a coon that was attacking me once. (amazing it still shoots straight)

When ever I go hunting I bring more than one gun. Even though I plan on using a different one I always end up grabbing old reliable. Is what impresses me about the gun in particular is the way it shoots slugs. Even after being used as a club the thing still shoots dead on out to a hundred and a quarter yds.

Guess it's been with me long enough to have some sentimental meanings to it. (it's got a couple stories it could tell that I've forgot I'm shur.)

my favorite hunting guns are? the remington 870 mag. in 20 ga. just for the balance and the ease of the slide. as for big game i prefer the remington 30.06 as an all around rifle, with a 150 grain federal nos, part. for deer to b.bear.? ?i bought? a? .06 and 338 cal at reeds in walker with the detachable box magazines, and have real good service and again the ease of operation of not haveing to unload shells as with the old trap door models.

My favorite gun is my .270 it has dropped every deer it has shot at for 5 years and i love it to death. I have a .17 that is very nice for shooting squirrels, crows, fox  everything it is a flat shooting accurate gun. The 12 gauge has been everywhere with me and through everything you cna think of and still shoots fine and dandy. The .308 is nice for doing drives because it is a semi automatic rifle with a 10 clip never shot more than once but it is still nice. The .22's are fun for screwing around and target shooting and shooting small game. Just got a .300 taking it elk hunting this year and will find out how nice it is should be a blast because it will be going mule deer hunting at the same time but i think i am gonna bring with the trusty .270 for the mulies.

I agree on the .270, that is what I use for deer hunting now.  I also have a .243 that I previously used.  I never had any problems with it, but I like the extra power that the .270 has.

My favorite is definately my .243. It shoots remarkably flat and has plenty of power to take on whitetails, in fact ive never had a deer run more than 20 yards and have dropped 2 where they stood. I cant complain with my 12 guage because #1 its an 870, cheap but will last forever, and #2 because it has already been through hell and it still works great. I know im going to have to get a new rifle for this fall though because im not gonna tackle elk and mulies with the .243.

My favorite is my Beretta ultralight over/under 12 gauge.  At 5 3/4 pounds you can carry it all day and not get tired.  I still have my SKB O/U 12 ga.  which is a dandy gun as well but a little heavier.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being so terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant - and not nearly as much fun.? Robert Traver "Anatomy of a Fisherman"

DAVE O.  That looks like a bugger to carry!  MY is a lever Marlin 39a 22 for the gophers, Ruger 30.06 for deer and Remington 870 pump for pheasants, ducks, geese. Actually all of rest are favorites also..

Mine is my grandfathers old 30.06.  I use a Mossberg 12 gauge for duck and pheasant.
