spoons or something like a forage minnow? the biggest problem is the weight not being enough and they are hard to keep verticle.

Won the PWT on ottertail a few yrs ago vertical jigging em. Hammered silver I believe.

Anchor up and give em hell. One thing I have noticed is the bigger spoons seem to work a lot better than the typical sized ones you use in the winter.

I think that's why he said anchor up and give 'em hell. Can't move much slower than that.  That's they way I have fished them as well.  If you locate the spot on the spot where fish are holding it can be deadly but not the best search tool in the shed so make sure your on 'em.

work the structures out in front of the A frames to the north of the access. i believe its Carrs but I could be wrong.

I wouldnt do a split shot, it will screw you up on pick ups. if you cant get bottom with a 1/2 or 3/4 oz spoon you got bigger issues at hand. Those are the sizes I use.

I use hopkin or hapkin or something like that, I know the spoon style is a smoothie in flat silver or a blue silver prizm.

Also works well on the deeper weed edges and im sure they would excel with suspended fish if you did the guess work and found em.

It was two or three years ago. I believe Doc or ted won, Christenson was in the lead and he was using strictly spoons, final day doc switched over after blanking out in deep water and adjusted and snuck ahead.

Outside weedlines on inside turns and corners, very scattered fish, but when you found one, you found more.
