  Wanting to paint a 15' fiberglass canoe for duck hunting.  I have paint, but need a good stencil.  Any ideas?  Anyone have extras they could part with or loan out?

I don't have a stencil, but I have painted my duck boat the color of the cattail, than put the boat on its side, layed real cattails on there and srayed a darker color over them. Once the paint is dry (or almost) take the cattails off and you have the cattail camo print left behind.

Dunno if you want to try it....but you can give it a shot on a piece if cardboard first.

Just an Idea......

Now I may be a bit more artiscally inclined than some , but, make your own stencils.... Ive made some for some buddies of mine even though I know they easily could have done it themselves!  Make two different ones... one with verticle grass like cuts in the cardboard, and another with just the cattails.... very easy... :happy1:

both are good ideas.. we've also used blue masking tape instead of real cattails pulls off easy.. ducks can't tell the difference and if they did they were nice enough to setin anyways.

You can also brush on cattails really easy. just lift the brush as you finish the leaf to make the point. You also want to paint some bent over stalks. It is hard to screw it up. And when you figure in the time that you move the stencil around and change up colors you may find yourself ahead of the game. Just remember you are trying to match a constantly changing slough and not a premier auto showroom.
