The daytime walleye bite continues this week on the mud flats.  The fish are beginning to scatter on the flats as summer moves on.  Drive around the mud flat keeping an eye on the electronics looking for fish before you drop your line in.  When you make contact work the school of walleyes with leeches or crawlers.  If you have trouble getting bit make a tackle presentation change maybe add a bead to your live bait or blow up a crawler or pull spinners thru them.  Water temps reached 70o on Sunday after a weekend of cold front conditions.

Tip of the week:  When you make a trip to Mille Lacs and find out when you get there that the area you are planning to fish has the wind blowing too strong to get out on the lake, don’t turn around and go home, explore your options and trailer over to fish on the side where the wind is blowing from.  The lake has lots of structure and you may find a new go to spot.

Good Luck and we'll see you on the water!
