The daytime walleye bite on the big lake was hit and miss this past week.  The best place to fish is the north mud flats where bugs are coming out of the mud which gets the food chain active.  Spinner rigs with crawlers will turn a few fish along with trolling crank baits on lead core line.  Some of the better flats to try are East, Mattons and Curleys.

Tip of the week: Drive your boat over the top of the flat to locate fish before you drop your line in the water.
