So a while back we got a new refrigerator.  Being as the old one worked, I decided to keep it for a garage fridge.  I ended up moving it in the garage myself, and broke the cardinal rule-never, EVER lay it on the side.  It was on it's side for about 2 minutes as I slid it through the doorway.  Then I sat it upright immediately.  Once I got it in place, I let it sit overnight before plugging it in.  It did not cool like before however.  It is a side by side and it gets warm between the doors.  I worry I may have gotten compressor oil up in the condensor.

Any ideas, advice that might get this running for me?  It worked fine until I moved it.  :doah:

It's funny how they make them things! only fits through a door way on it's side and never the right way!  What do you mean it gets warm inbetween the doors? Is it warm when you open the doors and feel it or ?on th eoutside of the doors?
(ill make a call in the morning to my uncle and ill have some answers for ya  ;))

When it's been running for a while, it's not very cold now, and the divider between the fridge and the freezer is warm.  It shouldn't be warm, nor cold.  I haven't had it running for a couple weeks (or plugged in) thinking that would give it time for the compressor oil to hopefully find it's way back out of the condensor.  I'm sure it's wishful thinking, but I had to try.  Thanks!

Are you sure the compressor is kicking in?  Sometimes it sounds like it's running when actually it's just the fans running.  Our Kenmore side by side quit cooling a couple weeks ago.  The problem was the relay switch on the side of the compressor.  I tapped on that a few times and it kicked in.  Worked fine after that, but I ordered a new switch and swapped out the old one anyway.  Works great now.

It sounds like it was not on its side long enough for all the oil to get in to the condensor. as for the heat on some models they put a switch inside some where that you turn on if you start to get condensate on the outside warms up around the doors. Not sure if you have this or not.
and the relay is a good place to start if it is not running some stated just tap it that works alot.

Any word yet? It's cool, but not cold.  Freezer won't freeze water.  I'll tap the switch on the condenser today-been busy.   :whistling:

I was told that if the wall between the fridge and freezer is warm, then there's a good chance the fan has not been running.  So I pulled it out from the wall, opened the panel in the back/bottom and sure enough the fan wasn't running.  I giggled something and the fan started to run.  I checked the temp in the fridge, it was 60 degrees before the fan worked, now a couple hours later it's just a touch above 50.  The freezer wouldn't freeze water, now...it freezes water.  I don't think it's completely taken care of, but at least I have it running for now.  I will keep looking into this so I know what part needs to be replaced.  Harvest time (garden) is coming, and I need my beer fridge to be working.  Besides having my beer in the house fridge isn't working real well with the Mrs., time to get my beer back where it belongs-------> my belly!   :toast:
