I will be bow hunting for the first time after 10-15 years,  Never killed a buck with the bow.  This guy will get a free pass for at least 1 more year.  We have 10-15 does that are regulars on the cams and food plot that will feel the cold steel of the broadheads first chance I get.

This past weekend up by Detroit Lakes there was a mix of velvet and hard antler bucks.  While scouting we did happen to see one nice 10 pointer who was in the middle of losing his velvet.

I have been doing some scouting with my spotting scope between 7 and 8 o'clock on the hay fields near my stand and also have been seeing a mixture of hard horn and velvet.  Most basket 8's and smaller have been in velvet, but the nice nine and eight pointers I saw were in hard horn already.
