I want to take Anders (7) out in the woods w/ me this season.  Initially, I thought about a "double" ladder stand, but that gets me nervous.  Plus, I'd need to outfit him w/ camo.
So, I'm gonna pull the trigger on a ground blind.  Which one?  Any thoughts out there?  I'm leaning toward either the Grizzly G-20 or the Doghouse.  Both very affordable and have 60" X 60" footprints and would accomodate the both of us.  Also, I could bowhunt out of it.
Benny, you use a blind.  Are blinds the way to go?  Easy to set up/break down?
Any input would be appreciated!
Dan

We have a doghouse up at our shack that we started using the past two years.  They are great if you can set up on a little hill and see over the brush, instead of clearing a path.

This year we are going to team the blind up with a ladder stand and put them on opposite ends of a swamp.  Depending on wind / deer activity is which one we would sit in.

I hunted out of a double bull blind the first two years I hunted and it was sure nice.  I had many dear that came in within 15 yards of the blind unspooked.

I have been using the "Out House" blind for a couple of years, but I find it to small.

For the most part I just sit right between two small pine trees in an office chair up on a ridge.

I have had a few does and one decent buck walk right up next to me before they made eye contact and did the OH sh*t shuffel.

I plan on buying a larger blind, something like the double bull or the full draw.

I do believe they work very well, but it is hard to fool those keen eyes.
One must camo it up some like you would do to a ground blind for waterfowl.

On those cold morings a small coleman heater warms it up nice too.

I've got one of the cabela Lightning Set Hunting Blinds and I love it.
I've used it all over the states and it works great. I have had does go by so close that I could have poked the gun out and touched them. They seem to contain scent also because they have repeatedly wandered by without spooking, it's really cool.

I have 2 doghouse blinds and absolutely love hunting in them, on cold days, I fire up my buddy heater and stay nice and warm. ;D

Bow hunting out of them is very difficuly though, they are just a little to small. My next blind will be the Double Bull or something bigger.

Thanks for the info, guys.  My bro and I are leaning toward the Doghouse from Cabelas.  Mossy Oak.  They even throw in a free high-back chair.  Can't beat that! ;D
