I'm not looking for a debate. I am looking for what a scrape means to you, right or wrong (if there is a such thing). I have read many articles on the subject and have seen many studies done on scrapes and they vary quite a bit. I have also heard deer camp stories and hunters in general talk about scrapes and it seems like there is a wide array of ideas or beliefs on what a scrapes is and how its used.

Please share your thoughts on the subject.

Thanks.

Tim

I don't change any hunting tactics or locations due to finding scrapes but, I love to see them because they are made by bucks.

i have a stand in a pine tree grove that is a major bedding area and i put the stand up in august and didnt cut any shooting lanes. been waiting for the right time to get in there all year. got to be the perfect wind. i cut shooting lanes yesterday for this weekend if wind allows me and the place is just tore up scrapes all over and 2 nice big rubs. this place is were i found the buck i got last year at and seen him multiple times. :offtopic:

i dont choose stand placement because of scrapes because some bucks make them and never return to them. to prove this i set my trail camera over one last year and didnt get a single picture of a buck checking it out. like deadeye said all it does is tells you if there is a buck in the area or not.

scrapes are cool to see when i was younger I would set up on em and never had much luck.. now I just take it as a sign that there are bucks around.

cody and deadeye are right on with this one

Not all scrapes are equal.  We have a spot that gets hit every year.  The comunity scrape is checked out all year long.  It has really gotten torn up the last couple of weeks and is a great spot to hang the camera.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.
