Plan Your Wisconsin Deer Registration Ahead of Time

The Wisconsin DNR would like to help you plan your deer registration ahead of time.  You can search for the nearest deer registration station in your area by using the Registration Search tool on the DNR website.  This tool will allow you to find all of the necessary information for your local station such as; city, address, open hours, phone #, CWD registration and sampling.

Registration reminders for gun deer hunters:

Non-CWD Unit Registration - Deer must be registered no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day after the close of the season in which the deer was killed.  Deer must be registered by the hunter who tagged the deer in the unit of kill or in an adjoining unit.

CWD Unit Deer Registration - Deer must be registered no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day after the deer was killed.  All deer killed within a CWD unit must be registered by the hunter who tagged the deer at a station located within the CWD Management Zone, and no more than one CWD deer management unit away from where the deer was killed.  Hunters should be aware of new deer carcass transport restrictions for 2009 (page 30-31 in the 2009 Wisconsin Deer Hunting Regulations).
