Gophers men's basketball coach Dan Monson told his staff this morning that he is resigning, according to a staff member who also said that assistant coach Jim Molinari will become the interim head coach. The university has called a 3 p.m. press conference.

Now if we can get rid of Mason and Maturi.

Something had to change.  They can't play any worse.

It's good that he realized that there needed to be a change.  Now they just need to get the football coach to think the same way.

What are the odds that Flip Saunders will be the next coach of the Gophers?  I don't really care about the Gophers basketball team, but it would be interesting to see him come back here.

does he want to step down to the collegent level?
he's probably sucking margaritas on a beach somewhere.

This is a job Flip would really want and has said that before.  I don't know if he is ready to get out of the NBA yet, but if they made him an offer he would really consider it.
