Now that I know people visit the predators site lets talk northerns. I can hear the laughing already but here we go. Just to show you guys how sick I  am  I would rather fish northerns any day instead of walleyes. Are there any other sickos out there.  The way I look at it is my northern can eat your walleyes :rotflmao:

Then you almost break your neck sliding on the ice and you get to the tip up set the hook and it pulls like a wet rag, :d-mn walleye.  :rotflmao:

It all depends on what size the northerns are :whistling:

No disrespect to the northern but on most days they are not as big a challenge as the illusive walleye. It's like mining for silver when there's gold to be found on the same mountain. As far as the fight goes most folks fish eyes with lighter tackle and enjoy a good fight from a decent size eye.

With the pike in most cases you'll tend to fish with heavier tackle. So, there's kind of a trade off there on the battle of the two species. Anyhow, their both fun to fish for and it's best to be prepared to approach both species if one of them is not cooperating. :toast:

well, i dont think eather are hard to catch as you can see from the fishing challenge. If you want a real challenge, go for the mid-summer eel pout like this guy. There is nothing like having all of the buds over for a good ol' pout boil with some coot legs for apps!  :drinking:

Good call foobar, or even better try catching a 50 pound flathead catfish on the Mississppi, that's a challenge. But Northerns are great, you don't need a boat, they can get big (I've heard, I can't seem to catch anything over ten pounds). Cody, don't insult bullheads, walleyes fight like sheephead, tired sheephead  :rotflmao:,

BUT WALLEYE TASTE SO YUMMY!!!     :chef:  And im pretty sure Sheephead do not (But i have never eaten one).

Northerns are more fun to catch, because you tend to catch more (or I do, personally) and they put up a nice fight and they get bigger and you can catch some nice ones wherever you fish, they are all over the place and bite ALL DAY!!  So for the pure aspect of the fight and availability, Northerns win, but the walleye will always be the sport fish of choice, along with the bass.
PERSONALLY, I like catching anything that bites my hook!
