LAKE MINNETONKA – Minnetonka Outdoors, Dallas or Gregg, south frontage road to Hwy 7 between Vine Hill Rd & Old Market Blvd in Shorewood, www.minnetonkaoutdoors.com  (952-470-8800)
The action on Lake Minnetonka has slowed to a crawl.  A (very) few guys are still going out and having mixed success on Walleyes in the Channels and Muskies on the flats.  The river fishing has been well above average with the crow river being commented on the most.  A Jig & minnow or jig and white twister tail seems to be producing the best.  Best reports have been guys starting to gear up for winter.  The hopefuls are buying new portable ice shacks and shelter tags to hit that first ice we are hoping for in the next few weeks.
Hunting reports have been OK.  Lots of deer and pheasants being shot and even a nice bull moose that had to be put down.  We think he was looking for love in all the wrong places!

METRO AREA EAST - Blue Ribbon Bait & Tackle, Oakdale, Josh, www.blueribbonbait.com (651-777-2421)
A few walleyes and sauger are being caught on the St. Croix.  And some people are having luck with northerns on Big Marine and Forest Lake.

The walleye bite has still been good at the damn with a hair jig and a minnow or casting plastics into the riprap.  Blue or a red head with a white body seem to be the better colors.  Crappies are still biting in the Baypoint park area too on a jig and a minnow.  Deer harvest numbers are up and the pheasant hunting continues to be good.

Most of the West metro lakes that I have looked at are froze up pretty good. Somebody has a small 4 x 8 permanent on Waconia already.  Whaletail has been froze over for 5 days, Auburn had a house sitting on the ice at shore. Some of the smaller bays on Tonka had ice on them.

That's it for now
