Sixteen inches of clear ice, four inches of snow cover, and biting fish, what more can you ask for? Crappie action is heating up on the Ely area lakes. Twin lakes, Bass and Low lakes are giving up some nice crappies lately. Most anglers are connecting with some decent fish using small jigs tipped with waxies or minnows under a slip bobber. Stay mobile for the best results as only a couple of fish are coming out of each hole.
