Its been a good day than a bad day. Then a good day then a bad day. Are you seeing a patern. I think we have hit that late winter lull in the LaCrosse area. If your a pan fisherman the key is to find the green weeds or the deepest hole in the river system. These areas are holding the most fish because they have the most oxygen. I would say the use of electronics, flasher or camera is a must..Pike and bass guys have had the same action. the one thing that is nice if you put your time in your rewarded with a better than average size fish. Some pike in the area have been in the 20lbs range and alot in the 12-15 range. Walleye have been the same. My best bite is right at dark..www.troguide.com

Are you catching those on tip-ups with Suckers or are the biting the walleye rig you have down there?  Ive had a few pig pike rip my jig and take'r off, but they never hit my tip-up or set lines (I wish they would)
Ive heard the walleyes have been pretty slow down there, they are sure slow up here at the 5A dam.  I was out last night, caught 4 small walleyes, 1 was pushing 10"es and that was the biggest by far!  Felt like a hog after you catch a few of the 6"ers.
A few weeks ago I heard some nice reports coming out of the Trempealeau area, but nothing recently.

by the way, NICE PIKE!  :happy1:

The picture is a good friend of mine and his 5 year. The 5 year old helped me catch it and he did a great Job.. She was 13.20. The other picture I just added was a kid that I got to fish with. It was his day off school and His Uncle brought him out. No weight but 37 inches.. Basic pike rig leader and treble hook.. fishing mostly shallow water 4-7 fow and find green weeds..
