What kind of prices are you guys running into with the lime and fertilizer and seed this year?

What quanities are you asking about? What kind of seed? Pelitized or ag lime?
I'm ag so I buy in bulk.........

Just paid 3.49 for 50 lbs lime,  and we used the last of the fertilizer we bought 2 years ago.

Good question, Now that my soil test says I need a ton of lime to get from 5.5 to 6 PH per acre! Can that be right? What do you folks with more experience using soil samples think? Really 2000 LB?????

Yep and you'll more than likely be spreading more on next yr.

$24 a ton at Bjorklund Co. 763-444-9301 in Isanti  You pick up and haul. Good deal if I find a truck

That's where I get mine from.
I have had them spread it before in past years (like, 15 years ago) too, but, the field has to be truck accessable. I don't know if they still have this service or not, but you can call to find out.

It's also, ag lime....So, it can't be ran through just any spreader.

I did ask about delivery and it is $100 they mostly do loads of 16 ton for delivery. But the price is the same, so for small amounts it’s not worth it (one ton or under). I think I will do two loads of 1000 pounds each with my trailer

That might be the powder stuff. Hard to apply. I use the granular stuff for my spreader.

It's a little chunky'er than the powder stuff.
I use my manure spreader to spread it.

HD  My plan is the shovel it off the trailer around the field then break it up with a chain harrow then mix it in with a disk. That should work fine don’t you think? I never used this kind before

It should work if you get the piles spread out quite a bit.
2 ton by hand? With a shovel? Man, I hope you eat your wheaties before you spread it....
