We had an ok evening on the lake yesterday. Hunterdown and his son joined myself and my daughter for an evening on the lake. I think we hit the lake around 5:15ish and went to one of my deeper spots thinking we could pick up a few fish out there. With the chop on I thought for sure we would do good but.....only one fish for the box out there. After that we headed into some shallower rocks. The next spot usually turns on after 8 but we can usually pick up a few before that and we did just that! Actually the bite died after 8! I am not sure what happened. The temp dropped so maybe the cold front turned then off but after 8 I don't think we caught a fish. The total for the night was 9 walleyes and about 5 perch. Not bad for a few hours on the pond. The first half of the trip my daughter stayed on shore and then she came out around 7:30. She was bad luck because the fishing went downhill from there. Oh well... fun eve on the lake! I was super excited for Hunterdowns son Colton who caught his first walleye EVER! and he also had the big fish of the night with a very fat 22+ inch fish. When I netted the fish I was thinking more like 26 and was shocked when it went just over 22. Very healthy fish!

Here are a few picks from the eve:

we only had 5 eaters for the 2 days of fishing(about 8 hours of actual fishing) most ranged from 13-16 inches. so your saying the fishing has really picked up?

We fished about 5 actual fishing hours today and kept 8 eaters, threw back 5 too small and about 4 over. We also caught two nice smallies with one just hitting 21 inches and a mess of perch. I'd say today was a success so yes the fishing has picked up. I will say this though, noone else that I talked to did as well as we did except for one other guy. Talked to about 5 groups. More report with pics tomorrow.

Great report. I know what you mean about the fishing looking bigger than they actually measure. Was up on opener and thought we had some monsters, measured at 25 inches but man are they thick!!
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.

Looks like a good time! I have never had the privilage of fishing the pond. (If anybody ever needs someone to drag along I would like to try sometime) Seems like way to big a place to go with a small boat and no gps. Hunter your son sure looks like he had a good time.

Sitting on the lake right now. We have a breeze from the south and what looks like rain coming from the west. We have 7 fish in the box with a lot of throw backs tonight....small fish again. When to deeper water and pulled about 6 fish out of 17 feet of water after doing about the same in 10 feet. Tomorrow I am going to venture out to the gravel and see how my honey holes are holding up.

Made it out this morning and was very disappointed. I caught one fish!

Not sure what the deal was. I was out for a couple hours, moved 3 times and caught one walleye, one perch and missed a couple. It was pretty darn sad. Last night was great. Three guys in the boat and we brought back 11 walleyes and a few perch and threw back just as many. Again, a lot on the smaller side with some over. Great week on the lake!

I just wanna Thank Tim for letting us tag along....
We had a really good time! My son did enjoy himself, so much, that he wants to go back!
And, that was more important to me than anything. Tim was a little frustrated that we didn't catch more fish, but seeing the look on my boys face, was worth a heck of alot more than any fish! And, that's what it is about (in my book).... we could'a caught a couple fish, and would have been just fine. Spending time outdoors, with some friends, is worth more to me than anything! He got to catch his first wally (then caught a better one later) and is still grinning from ear to ear, cause he out fished the "old man".... Tim's daughter kept us entertained (as small children do) and was quick to point out..."You said a bad word!" when I missed a fish... (it's been awhile since I had to watch my language)  ;D But, she was fun to have in the boat with us.

So, Thank-You!

No problem Hunter... It was my pleasure!

I really had a great day. It was a long day and the daughter was a bit on my nerves but it worked out, we caught some fish and had a good 'ol time. Your welcome up anytime... I'll keep you posted.  ;D
