My 11 year old son and I are heading to Ely to do some fishing out of Babe's Bait and Tackle on the 14th. While we are there we plan on camping, in a tent, in one of the local state parks for a couple days/nights. Since we have never done this before can anyone suggest any gear that should be brought with that is out of the ordinary. It is a hike-in camp site but its only about 3/4 mile one way. Still long enough to take awhile but not like we want to bring a generator and TV.
And what about the bears? Don't harass them and hang the food cooler up in a tree, I got that.

Any advice on the whole camping thing would be great.
