I don't know what happened but since I put out te new trail camera last Saturday, I didn't get a single picture.  I had tested it at home and it worked fine.  In the field, I couldn't get it to take a picuture.
It's a Bushnell Trophy Cam.  #$%^&**(*())#$#

Well, I got it working.  I tried it at home and could take pix with the "shot" button. When in setup mode, the indicator would come on indicating the camera detected motion but it didn't take a pix. I formatted the SD card (I had done this when I first installed the card) and now it works as it should.  I thought perhaps something got hosed when I put the card in my camera to view the pix so I tried that process and it still works.  Go figure.

Thats a common problem that people do not realize... reformatting the SD card. If you pop your camera back and forth f from a camera to check pics and then back into the cam you should reformat. Its a small step but sometimes forgotten. To reformat...usually, all you have to do is put the card in the slot of the cam and go through the "delete all" cycle. That is how its done on my cams anyways.

Another thing I see people do is put the wrong size sd card in the slot. On some cams it asks for no greater than a 2gb sd card and some will put in a 4gb card thinking that they will get more pics when in fact the camera will not read the card. Just something to think about. Every camera is different.

Well, the camera is back out and taking pictures (I hope).  There could be a problem with reformatting the SD card prior to use.  Unless you had a way to save them, you woul lose all the picutures on the card.  I use my camera to view the pictures.  I now have several SD cards so I will use a new one and then transfer any pictures I wish to keep before formatting a card.  Also, I think I have a process now that seems to work without the formatting.  Years ago I a trail camera that used film.  I'm just learning the best practices for using a digital camera.  :whistling:
