I hunted Ripley this year and filled a management tag.  I've been told that since Ripley is a special hunt I can still use a management tag in a different management area.  Does anyone know if this is correct?  I'm wondering if Ripley is technical an intensive harvest area where the hunt limits you to a maximum of 2 deer?

It is my understanding that if you were to hunt another management area, you can still shoot a doe - since the limit there is 2 deer as well....
If you were to get a management permit, I believe you can get as many deer as you would like, as long as you are only getting the alotted amount in each zone.  I bought a management tag for up at our cabin, and could still hunt our normal land if I was to get a doe, so I would think yours is no different

I would email the DNR though - I did the same thing with a party hunting question and they got back to me in a day (PRETTY SLICK).  And make sure you save the email, incase the CO is wrong, you have proof that you were told otherwise and its out of your hands!   :happy1:

Funny you ask... I asked two CO's this past summer a very similar question and they couldn't answer it. We then looked at the regs book and still couldn't get the answer. They referred me to an enforcement manager in St. Paul. Typical MN DNR.

Good luck finding your answer. I wish I could help. I guess start with your local CO because he is the one that will enforce the law as he interprets it in your area.

Thanks Cody, but that's not really addressing the question.  I get that Intensive Harvest is 5 and Management is 2.  But the question is if I can get a doe at Ripley (on my bonus tag) and still get a doe on another bonus tag in a different management area.

I'll check with the DNR and post what I find.

well i would think sense its in a different area right? i mean im gonna use my bonus tag in a management area this weekend, when i hunt a intensive area most of the time. i would say your pretty safe just as long as your not shooting another doe in that pacific(sp) area again.
