I use a Savage 210F bolt action with the Nikon BDC scope and the Benelli SBE2 with a rifled slug barrel and Leupold scope. Once and a while I will get out the Encore with the 270 cal and scope on it.

The Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in .270cal topped with a Bushnell Trophy 3x9x40mm shooting Federal Premium Vital Shocks 130gr. BTSP's.  It's my go to gun.  I bring it with every year and try not to use it due to I want to keep it great condition, but when things get slow I grab it and it never fails me.  Was my first deer rifle I ever purchased back in the mid 1980's.

I'll probably start out though with my CVA Wolf .50cal inline Muzzy though iron sights.

Weatherby Vanguard 270WSM / Nikon Pro staff 3-9x50 / 130gr Win
I picked this up 3 years ago and I would recommend it for anyone on a budget....I got mine for $375
on sale and is the most accurate gun I have shot and surprisingly enjoyable to shoot for a WSM. Might be a little overkill for whitetail but If i go out west this gun will get it done.

Do you bring them all to your deer stand?  Isn't the deer too far away by the time you empty the first two rifles and get down to the 30/30?   ;D

Benelli M1 12 gauge with extendo tube, and leupold rifleman 2-7 x 33mm.  Winchester sabot BRI's 2 and 3/4 (most accurate for my gun).  I can't wait.

Remington 700's here, 30.06, a 260 and a 7mm.  All custom reloads with accu tips, to reach out and put the SMACK on them.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

The gun depends on the situation.  If I'm hunting behind the pasture back in the oaks and brush then the TC Encore 30-06 gets the call.  Got a peep sight on this one.  I use 180gr Winchester CXP 2 ammo.

If I'm going to be doing a drive, then it's the "old reliable" Marlin 30-30 topped with a Tasco red dot.  Dropped a nice 10pt buck with this one just the other day.  This gun loves Federal premium 170gr ammo.  Don't know why.  Tried other brands and it just shoots better with that one.  Half inch group at 100 yards....with a red dot sight.

Tomorrow there's supposed to be a cold front coming through.  I expect this will bring more deer out into the alfalfa field.  I need a long reaching gun for hunting the open areas and use my Savage model 16 .270 WSM with the accutrigger and use 130gr Winchester CXP 2 ammo.  I have a Burris 4-16x30 scope on it.  This gun is deadly accurate and extremely fun to shoot.  By far my favorite of the three.  Only downside to this one is that it's not good at very close range.  Inside of 30 yards the bullets don't expand enough.  Anything outside of 50 yards usually falls flat on its face.  I've only had to track two deer that I've shot with this gun (lost count but somewhere between 15 and 20 have fallen to it).  Both of the two that ran were inside of 30 yards.  One of them ran 200 yards on a double lung shot.  She was grazing with her tail down when I pulled the trigger.  Exit wound was the diameter of a #2 pencil.  If you're going to shoot up close with it, try to get a quartering shot through the shoulder or be prepared to do some tracking.

I also have a left handed Savage .243, but even though I bought and paid for it, it's technically the wife's gun.

If you're wondering why someone would need 3 deer rifles the answer is simple.  I've got 2 young boys that are not quite old enough to hunt yet.  After each one was born I figured I'd better get him a gun now while I can afford it and before the laws get so dang complicated that it takes an act of congress to buy one.

When I am out in a stand or where a there's a lot of open areas I use a Rem 7mm long mag with a 3x9x30 scope. If I am walking and stalking I go to the trusty Marlin 30/30 no scope (I have dropped alot of deer with this gun over the years). And I never leave home with out my S&W 10mm side arm.
