just do it yourself it's easy. I just boiled mine until all the meat came off and blew the brains out of the skull with an air compressor.

it's not hard to do.. or it'll cost about 80$.

cut the fur off, toss the lower jaw. boil in water and borax.. as for the brain take a drill and open up the hole at the base of the skull and scoop out with a spoon. soak in hydrogenperoxide for that nice white look. I've also heard of guys taking them to the car wash and using the power wand after its been boiled.. give it a try

I won a free European mount at our last MDHA banquet.  I'm going to have my son's deer done this way.  It's from Realistic Taxidermy in St. Francis.  I don't know what the normal cost would be.

boiling a fresh deer doesn't stink smells like your just cooking. or toss it on the side burner on the grill or camp stove

I boil them outside on propane burner that came with a turkey fryer... works sweet.

There are two types of European mounts one with the whole skull, in Germany a lot are done with the 1/2 the skull.  Take your sabre saw and make a vertical cut from the end of the nose thru the lower eye socket to the back of the skull.  Also looks great IMO and easier to mount on a plaque or wall. Here is a pic of a mule I shot with my bow two years ago havent put on a plaque yet though.

I saw that done on "Dirty Jobs" one time.  Neat little buggers.

My brother does most of his deer this way.  Boils, bleaches the skull only (will damage color of antlers), and then sprays them with a spray poly-urethane to make it shine.  I'll get a hold of him and see what else he has to say about it.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

you can do it with beetles if you have em.. or boiling works.. the borax/bleech neutralizes any bacteria.. the hydrogenperoxiode (however you spell it) will give the skull a nice white appearance. to each their own.. theres probably 100 ways to do it and the only one that is right is the one that makes you enjoy your trophy

Boiling water will make skull become very brittle.  I keep the water just under a boil.  Also, make sure you wrap the horns - they steam will pull the original color out of the antler.
I have done 4 each one I do turns out a little better - then a friend of mine bought the beatles so I take my stuff to him now.  $70.00  Way worth it!
Just my experience.
