Yet another nice buck is still at large.

I think I may just hang up my bow for the year.  I just can't seem to close the deal.  Wednesday afternoon (in the big blow) I had a doe that looked like she would pass around 35 yards out.  I heard a crack in the brush behind her but thought it was a fawn.  Just as she gets even with me, I see the buck.  He's a very nice 8 point (didn't count but looked it).  I guess the wind shifted a little and the doe picked up on something.  She ran out to the swamp and headed away.  The buck just stood there at 45 yards.  After 5 minutes of this, I tried a grunt and a grunt-snort-wheeze.  He then proceeded to circle me staying 40 - 45 yards away.  Once downwind he figured I probably wasn't a challanging buck and headed off in search of another doe.

dont take it to hard I missed out on a 15poiner on friday. only 20 yrds. and I went back out this morning and someone through his carcase under my stand. they only took his backstaps and antlers.

It may not do a ton, but I would call a local DNR officer. That's bush league all the way
