Eskimo augers?

Whats everyones opinion on eskimo augers? I just bought one online cant wait for delivery!

I've owned the cheapest (stingray) auger that they make.  Doesn't drill as fast as others but drills me a hole.  Works great.  No problems for 3 years now.

     I still use use a strikemaster lazer mag.  It's old but works great for new holes.  I won't upgrade until I need to.  It jumps around like a 3yr old when trying to reopen a hole and smokes like a chimney if used inside.   Cut as far as you can while holding your breath.  Run out side take a breath and cut again.  It's a routine I would like to unlearn.  Let us know how it works for you when you get it.

I bought the Eskimo because it was cheap and also Gander had a good sale going if you spend 300 you get 50 off and they had free shipping. It was under 300 with tax after the discount.

This will be year number 4 with my Eskimo. I am very satisfied with it. One word of caution, always use exremely clean fuel mixture, if theres any doubt if a gas can has even a few specks of dirt in it, don't use it. The diaframs in these are sensitive to dirt.

Thats really good advice for any auger owner Katfishkeith, fresh gas from a station that refills their tanks often, using a funnel with a screen and using a little seafoam or stabil will save alot of grief when you want it least!

Thunder do you use seafoam or stabil while using your auger or just for storing it?

the tesoro on 17.. (north of stacy) has ethenol free gas for collector cars or whatever. my mechanic buddy said to use this in my small engines. maybe it's all in my head but my wheeler seems to like it..

Thanks for that info!  Nice to know someplace on the way north that has non ethanol fuel.

The only other place that I have found it is at a BP station on the corner or Co Rd B and Dale in Roseville.

Brother has an Eskimo for 6 yrs with no problems and Mills Fleet Farm also has non oxy gas and seems to work great in all my stuff.DDsbyday I have an old magum and mine doesnt blow any smoke to speak of but I use Amsoil and have it mixed 80 to 1 with no problem for 7yrs.Lighten up on your mixture.

    I was exaggerating a little.  I do get gassed out opening the holes in the perm. though.  I will be trying amsoil this year.  I have heard nothing but glowing reports about this stuff.
