Mother Nature threw us a curve ball with temps in the upper 30s to upper 40s early in the week. It’s been back to reality since, with a cold snap and high pressure the past few days. The weather certainly played a big factor in the bite during the last week. The bite was great early in the week, but certainly slowed the past few days. The action should start picking back up here as everything stabilizes. Everyone is still catching fish, but limits were less common over the weekend.
We’re on a good school of fish just north of Knight Island. There are lots of Saugers to keep everyone busy and a mix of Walleye. We’re still catching suspended Walleye out in the deep mud about 7 miles off of Pine Island. We may be making a move with some of our houses out in the mud as soon as today to get onto some more fish. The biggest Walleye on Saturday was 27 inches and the biggest on Friday was 26 inches. So there were some real nice fish caught, even with the big weather change.

Pike fishing has officially kicked off for us this weekend as well. A couple guys headed out to our Pike house and gave the tip-ups a try on Saturday. They did land a few. They hooked into a couple big fish as well, but weren’t able to land them. The fish are definitely there. It’s a still early, so the action should just get better from here on out.

The weather looks good the next few days. Temperatures are predicted to climb into the 20s again towards the middle of the week. The big snow storm pushing through the Midwest today is predicted to miss us.

Fish ON!
