Osakis is beginning to crack up. Has cracks forming in several areas. One formed this afternoon that is about 5 -10 feet wide and runs from Battle Point west all the way across into Schultz's Bay. Miller Bay has been opening up more and more for several days now because of the large amount of inflow from JD2. The rest is looking really bad. The winds we are supposed to get Thursday and Friday, in the 20's with gusts to 30, should start busting it up. I think we might be ice free by the end of the weekend. Time for the long rods. :fishing:

Ice has been on the move with the high winds we have been experiencing. Little Osakis is totally open. Manthey's Bay is ice free. Miller Bay is ice free. There are other large areas of open water. Shouldn't be more than a couple more days to being ice free. Took some pics of what the wind blew into my shore last night.

There was still a small area of ice as of this afternoon. With the wind and waves pounding away at it and busting it up we should be ice free tomorrow.
