Wax Worms Hatching

So 3 weeks ago or so I bought some waxys for mille lacs and completely for got about them after i set them on my dresser.  Today I looked over and there was movement from the can. The wax Worms hatched!!!!!!!  I showed my dad and he had never seen it before. this ever happen to anyone else?

I've had this before as well. Usually one or two flies hatch out of the bunch.

They are actually wax moths. There is the greater and the lesser. They are problematic to beekeepers aas they will infest hives and such. The more you know!

I had the same thing happen years ago...left them in the truck at the end of season opened them later to find a half a dozen moths inside...kids thought it was cool

There are about 10 flies and moths in the small tin
