Well, I haven't been on that much this weekend because we had the youth turkey hunts .

This year was a little tuff for us. The opening day we had snow, cold, high winds and overcast. All of the things that turn turkeys off. We set up on a edge of a picked corn field in a corner, just in the woods. The first day, we heard some gobblers up on roost, but when the came down, they were silent the rest of the day...not seeing one bird. Then that afternoon we had a luch in at the lutheran church for all the kids. Only one boy, out of 20 some odd kids had harvested a turkey. Everyone of the mentors said the same thing....it was a tuff hunt. The next day we set up in a different location that we had blinds set up in, we had put some birds to bed the night before, so we knew they were around. When daylight came, not a gobble was heard...absolutly nothing. We hunted till 11:00 with only a hen coming in to check out our spread. I think the late spring kinda put the kabosh to the luck of the hunters.

That's hunting...But, the kids had a great time anyway, and that's what counts!
