Awesome.  You'll have to give us some detail on how the scenario unfolded.  I've been out the last few days but it's been a struggle to figure these boys out.  They aren't too interested in the calls and they seem to be a step ahead of me on where they'll be each morning.  I did have a coyote tackle my decoy on Sunday morning but I wasn't quick enough to get an arrow in him.

Nice Bird :happy1:  I too am looking forward to the story.  Did you use the Guillotine or just a regular broad head?

With my spring Turkey hunts I would say I’m lucky based on the spot I hunt.

What I have noticed is hunting the last two weeks the Toms do not come to the calls. They already have their Hens and most of the time when I do see Toms they are always with a group of Hens.
My parents own land that borders the Sherburne county refuge. The refuge does not open up turkey hunting and there are a lot of turkeys in the refuge!
The turkeys come out to the fields three times a day to eat, and as soon as they cross that line on to the property they are open game.

What you say about how they move around is so true. I have three blinds up across 400 yards and no matter what happens they always come in on the opposite side I’m at.
Friday I was out all day and the Turkey would not come in; they just stayed on the refuge. Funny thing happen on Friday. I went in to eat lunch and forgot to take down my decoy. When I came back from lunch my decoy was about 10 yards from the spot I put it and the ground and decoy were ripped apart. Looks like a tom had its way with my decoy.

Saturday morning did not start like I was hopping for. I wanted to be out in the blind by 5 AM to make sure I was out before they started moving around what is about 5:15 AM:
My friend who was hunting with me did not make it out until 5:15 am: I could hear the Turkey before walking out but as soon as we started down the path they stopped and we did not hear anything all morning.
The good thing with my friend is I new if he was on one end and I was in the middle we should get a Turkey if they come out. Around 6:50 I was frustrated based on not seeing anything or hearing anything and was ready to take a nap. 6:58 Am I looked out side my lift window and there was 4 hens 2 Jacks and two big toms. The path they were taking in the field I new I only had one chance at 40 Yards.
By 7:01 I had shot and het the Tom behind the leg and he went about 30 yards.

The turkeys went down to the Tom I hit to see what’s up, so I thought my friend would get the other tom but they stayed around 65 yards out. After they moved on they did go past my blind again around 50 yards out.
All in all it ended up being a good morning!

The only thing is I wanted to get my Turkey scored but could not find the information needed to get this done.
Always next year:

Used for hunt:
2008 Bowtech allegiance:
Arrows Carbon exspress 250 weight forward
Mussy 100 3 blade fixed: Tryid the guillotines but they were only good for 20 yards with me. Needed longer shot options.
I like the mussy 100 on all hunts Turkey, Deer and bear. I find that I do not waist any meat.

Cooking: I found best way is to take off the skin based on it's faster. de-bone the turkey and cook in a crokpot with cream of mushroom. Or grill slow cook in a pan with water.
