Well we are getting just what we needed. Nice 70 degree spring days and warm nights. Spent Friday and Sat with Keith, Dave and Doug Lennard from Atlantic Iowa. We fished the West Bend Area both Friday and Sat for walleye/smallmouth and had easy limits in around 2 hours both days so came back up on Oahe for catfish/northern in the afternoon keeping one northern and losing 3 or 4 more. The bite is going strong at the bend and the walleye being caught are mostly spawning males in the 16 to 18 inch range. Fish mostly 10 feet or less. Jig minnow/bottom bouncer minnow and shallow plugs taking most of the fish with crawlers starting to work..Bite is also good in Pierre area from the Bad river to Dam. Full smelt run in swing on lower Oahe. That combined with lower water temps making for a tougher bite..Salmon fishing on Oahe producing limited results with most fish being caught less than 40 feet. Maybe Spring is here.

Good fishing, Hutch
