12/23/06 Cass report

Ran up Friday afternoon to get a couple houses out and ready for this coming week.  12" of good clear ice, almost zero snow to bank your house in... Set up in 19-20' of water in Allen's Bay, on a sand - mud break.  Water looks a little cloudier than normal for Cass.  Fished Friday night and only managed an eel pout... I snuck out and fished for 2 1/2 hours Saturday morning before needing to head home for Christmas.  I was just catching and releasing... Activley jigging a small Chubby Darter with a minnow head was the trick... only 2 perch on my bobber line.  Caught around 15 perch with maybe a half dozen over 10", only one walleye though....

that has to be photo shopped. notice the cloudy smke affect to hide the image seperation lines. besides the only big walleyes left are in lake of the woods.

Yeah, I was in such a hurry to get her back in the lake, I never thought of the glare form the rising son coming in through the door and 'wrecking' the photo.   Too bad, that was my biggest walleye to date.  I'll just have to keep trying to get a bigger one to get a better picture! hehehe
