I got off of work today, and the plan was to go sit in the bow stand. I got home and parked the car. Went into the house to get ready and eat something before I headed out. When I was ready to go I looked out the window and saw 4 deer right in the front yard eating apples from under our tree. So, I snuck out the back door as not to spook um. I went to the shop and got my gear on and snuck back towards the woods. When I got 1/2 way down the trail, I got busted my a large doe and 2 fawns. The doe and the female fawn ran one way and the button buck, the other way. I figured I was done for, but I kept walking towards my stand. I no sooner got into my stand when the button buck came walking right past the base of my tree and soon disapeared into the thicket. I sat there pondering what to make of it, and soon settled into my spot.

After about 20 minutes had past, the button buck came back and layed down 30 yards from my stand. I took a picture of him cause, I figured this was all I was going to see. WRONG! After another 1/2 hour past with this little buck laying there, 4 more came out of the thicket (2 more button bucks, a small doe fawn and one 6 pointer) They proceeded to run around the area playing, until it was almost dark, then left. I soon heard crashing out in the swamp, and deer grunting at each other, it was 2 larger deer with racks (I didn't get a clear look at how many points cause it was getting dark and the swamp grass is high) I didn't get pictures of the rest of the deer because I could hardly move with so many eyes looking around. But I did get a photo of the 4 in the front yard and the button buck that layed down (he's the brown blob in the middle of the 2nd picture, the zoom on my camera sucks, but you can kinda make him out)

I hope you folks get out....cause I had a blast!

my cameras last week showed an increase in deer activity as well. so they must have cleaned up all the acorns and started moving around again.. atleast in my neck of the woods

Well, the bucks are definetly running the doe's around here!

I sat out this morning, looking to stick a big doe. Around 8:30, a large doe and 2 older fawns were walking down the trail towards me. Just before they got to the shooting lane, I drew back. The 2 fawns crossed first, but the doe stayed just short...then I heard a grunt, then another. I glanced over to see a small 8 (I don't even think it would have scored more than 100) So, I'm still holding, and the doe bolts across the shooting lane  :doah: . This little  :censored: buck starts chasing the 3 deer around, for what seemed like 15 minutes. I would get off of draw, then she would stop long enough to get drawn back again, then the bugger would chase her again. I tried 3 times to get a shot off before he chase um out of sight.

Welp, that's hunt'in....gotta love it!
