What type of weapon will you be using this weekend for the upcoming MN firearms deer opener?

I carry a Remington Woodsmaster model 740 30.06 (that was once my grandpa's).

Im going to the woods with my Remington 700 SS in .270 but dont care if I shoot anything as long as my daughter gets a crack at something. She is shooting a Savage Edge in .270. I cant believe that my 700 hasnt misfire on me at least 20 times according to the reports saying that they are so problematic. Love this gun!!! :fudd:

I have an old Remington 721 in .270 that belonged to my wife's grandfather.  He lived in Murdo SD and among other things was a postal carrier in Custer State Park.  Accoriding to my wife's father, he (his dad) used the gun to shoot buffalo in the filming of How The West Was Won.  He helped round up the 200 or so buffalo used in the stampede scene and had to dispatch a few for one reason or another.  It had a home made monty carlo (cheek piece) cut and glued in to the original stock.  Who ever did it,didn stain the piece so it is a different color than the rest of the stock.  A number of years ago I put a syntetic stock on the gun.

Here is a picture of the original stock

I will be out there with my Remington 7400. My 12 year old son last year took his Savage .243 bolt and now this year wants to try a Marlin lever 30-30.
If today was perfect. There would be no need for tomorrow.

Due to the recent forecast wet weather this coming weekend (Hoping it wont rain all weekend) we'll be pulling out the backup rifles.  I'll be shooting a new savage axis in 7mm-08-great shooter at the range, and the wife will be using a new CVA Scout in .243win.  If the sun decides to show itself, the Winchester Featherweights will come out.  I'd rather have snow rather than rain...

Good Luck to everyone, shoot strait and be safe...

Savage model 16 Weather Warrior with the accutrigger in 270WSM.  Ammo is $$ but the gun is awesome.

Just got a brand new Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum with a 7 1/2" barrel which I can surprisingly do 4" groups with at 100 yards with open sights (using a rest).  I'm awful tempted to use that while still hunting the swamp, especially if it rains and I can move quietly.

Used a Stevens 200 in .30-06. This was her virgin deer season, and she decided to remain chaste! If only the operator had everything together.... Missed a deer at 60 yards! ARGGGHH!!! Still can't figure that out!
