I am goingto take a wheel house up into the forest into an area I have hunted for years, off and on for muzzle loader opener. so far I am going it alone. I hunt with traditional weapons, other than I will use my climber maybe.

don't know if anybody here is into muzzle loading and interested in sharing the hunt. I can print topos and arials to help familiarize you with the area. you can bring your own camper, or just stay for a day or listen to me snore.

any how, I'm taking off friday morning to do some more scouting. this is pretty big country, but it's broken into nice pieces. plenty of deer, we just gotta find em. tracks will most likely be gone with this heat wave.

I got one doe tag left, but we are in an intensive harvest area. What area would this be in? Or abouts?

it is a hunter's choice area. you can take one of either but you must use a primary tag, no bonus tags. you can tag a doe with your muzzle loader tag.
I had thought about running down towards duluth and having some fun in the intensive harvest area. I guess I havent ruled that out yet. this trip would be half the distance for me but I don't care either way. I might have to be back on monday.
I figured I'd go to some recon on friday and plan my attack based on fresh sign from this week. maybe a big racked buck made it through the rifle season.
