Yesterday I put up a stand in and area I always liked but never hunted.  I couldn't resist and spent a few hours in the stand.  Here is what I looked at.
Behind me to the south is a beaver pond.  The deer crossing on the dam pass 20 yards to the east.  I predict there will be some deer shot from here.

View to the West. Those are deer trails in the grass.


View to the east. This is the entry/exit from the beaver dam.


View to the north. This is the convergence of several deer trails.
***I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.***

Very nice!!  Good spot to use a decoy?
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

Not really.  The deer would have to be very close before they saw the decoy and it may startle them.  The current trails will bring them close enough for a bow shot.
