after shooting a little scrub buck 8 pt late season bow dec 30th deer took off running gave plenty of time and went to recover it only to my suprise it had no horns. From the time i shot it till i recovered it they had fallen off i did locate the rack. My question is what would it be tagged as being recovering  antlerless? all the help and input would be great

My guess is that being you knew it was a buck, you had a buck tag.  So with the antlers and deer, I would tag it as a buck.  No reason to call it an anterless deer.

I have never heard of such a thing before. I would have to believe this is of great interest to hunters, outdoorwriters and naturalists alike. Perhaps the small antlers knocked off because of a collision with a tree. Injuries occur like that frequently when an animal is in flight for it's life.

You can tag this as a antler less deer

My uncle shot one and it lost one antler after he shot then he picked it up by the antler then he fell on his  :moon: when the other one broke off he raged as a buck but he found out later he could of taged as a doe

Another case my buddy shot a buck missing half a rack and at the station he lifted it up by the rack and the horn fell off
