  • Deer hunting/waking up in the morning.
Just wanted to share some pictures of a Mule deer a co-worker/buddy shot out in CO on Monday night.  He lives out there.  His buddy saw him coyote hunting two weeks before the season.  He put on over 2000 miles on his truck alone driving around looking for this buck and about 40 miles on foot.  He did not shoot it or even see it until the last day of the season.

Before he bagged his deer he helped out two kids with disabilities shoot their bucks.  One deer which grossed over 200".  Which was the biggest deer he saw in his life to date.

His taxidermist is estimating around 240"-250".  It has a 35" inside spread.  It is a 11 x 12.  It also has a couple of points busted off.

It couldn't have happened to a better guy.

I think it is more typical for the real wide mule deer racks to resemble a white tail rack.
But I thought the same thing the first time I saw it.

Thats an awesome deer. Sounds like the hunt of a lifetime between helping the kids and the personal payoff after holding out to the last day.
