Bald Eagle

Well,this warm weather has been refreshing and it sure turned the crappie bite on on bald eagle,last night was none stop right at dark,White Bear was good as well sunday evening with larger crappies and a few large bonus sunfish to boot if you could keep the hole sniffers away,never knew I had so many forgotten friends,even had one guy lift my flip over open for cripes sake...It always pays to keep any nice fish you keep outof site,well unless you want company,kinda like waving the landing nett in the summer,that gets everyones attention as well.

Ive been out on BE a few times this year, had pretty good luck all the times out there.  Of course the majority of crappies were small in the 6-8in range, but I was able to pull out a few 9+ that I decided to keep for the pan.
I have wanted to try to get into the sunfish, but I haven't been able to catch any this year.  I have another spot I may try out on Thursday (its going to be cold and windy).
I usually fish BE in the morning and into the afternoon, and then pop over to Lake Gervias in Little Canada and try my hand for some walleyes. -- that hasn't yielded anything since there was 6" of ice on the lakes.

If you have a mapping data on your gps,work the east shoreof BE along the weedline for gills,you'll find them in 10'-12fow (use larva),also a good bet is the north end,7-10fow,its best to hole hop tho,thursday might not be the best day to be out there.

Yeah, I got the day off on Thursday, so I figured even if the fishing is slow, it beats a day at work. 
The weather isn't looking pretty - cold and windy, oh well!
Ill most likely post up east of cigar and try my luck with all those crappies, hole hopping might get a little chilly.

Well, I got out there about 9 and fished til 4ish.  I caught a bunch of crappies as always, but most were very small.  I did manage one that was 10.5" and a few in the 9s, but most were between 8-9.  I decided to keep my limit for dinner.
There are so many small crappies in that lake, I figured if people can keep the smaller ones, but population might get a little bigger... but who knows! 
If I am cooking for 2, a limit of 10 smaller crappies are perfect (however cleaning those little buggers isn't nearly as exciting)

Well its good you got out!I'm heading out shortly,the bite is better in the evening,but yeah the lake is loaded with small crappies,always has been,good chow for the skis tho.,tonight should be good and tomorrow even better with the front rollin in.

I'm thinking about heading out there anyone wanna come never fished it for croppies only walleyes

If I go out I would fish croppies tell 315 and then head to a walleye spot

Went out earlier today from about 12 until 3.  Just a few hundred yards from the east side public access.  Had a couple nibbles but that was it.  Same spot that I've pulled in about 3 13" crappies this year and a bunch of other 9-12's.  Disappointing, but that's how it goes.

Moved over to White Bear and went to the 2nd cluster of houses east of the main group.  I've had okay walleye luck there earlier this year in about 15' of water.  I didn't catch anything there either, but a guy about 20 yards away pulled out a 13" and an 11" crappie in addition to a 27" pike.  I would have stayed out longer, but my fishing buddy had to get going.

Any suggestions for a good daytime bite or evening walleye bite on either lake?  I'm not picky, just nice to even catch something to throw back after a day like today.

I'm open to other lakes too, but BE and WB are the ones I'm most familiar with.

Those are some nice size crappies coming out of BE.  My largest is 10.5-11s this season.
Anyways, in regards to walleyes, I haven't had much luck out on BE, Ive caught a few smaller ones, but nothing worth keeping, so I mostly target the crappies since its more exciting for me.
If I want to target Walleyes, I go over to Lake Gervais in Little Canada, smaller lake, with less structure than BE, and still have a good population of Walleyes.
I was out there earlier in the season and pulled out two 17s and a 19s, and haven't had as much luck as of late.  Few smaller ones around 10" and missed a few as well.  I have been fishing the east end, if you take a look at a map, you will see the structure.  I hope to get out there a few more times this year, all the bites have been between 3-6, most being around 5pm.
