The bite is looking good this week as the weather is a little warmer and a little steadier. Resorts are putting houses all over the map, seeing a mix from 18-31 feet of water. Shallower water is showing more northern pike and eater fish, deeper waters are catching those big walleyes. Morning bite has been favorable, spotty during the mid-day, and picking right back up late afternoon into the evening. A mix of jigging with a dead stick is still the best technique, and electronics are beneficial to finding those few suspended fish. Glow, gold, and perch colored jigs are the hot colors this week, use bright colors on bright days!
Those on the NW Angle are fishing in 24-28 feet of water out by Garden Island and Little Oak. Several walleye over 20 inches are in the mix with quite a few white fish turned on by this warmer weather.
