The warm up will be starting later this week.  The longer days are working on the snow.  Soon the snow will be gone on the lakes and it will be go time.  As the ice shrinks from the shore the panfish move into the shallows and start feeding.  Some of the best fishing action you can get.  5 ft of water or less.  Punch a hole and you can use it a couple of days later.  As the ice honeycombs a couple of turns of a hand auger  burns through 12 inches of ice in a couple of seconds.  Anyone else chomping at the bit for a little ice fishing with a sun burn?
